Bounded, focused, useful.
-
One focused session on a single, specific business or product challenge your team is stuck on.
-
An outside perspective. No stake in your internal politics, no history with the problem, no attachment to what's already been tried.
-
A direction to work with afterwards; not a finished plan, but a direction for your team to go from here.
-
Yours in the format that suits you: one continuous two-hour call, or two shorter calls.
No surprises, no pitch.
-
Not a diagnostic that ends in a list of problems.
-
Not the start of a retainer conversation. You won't be pitched.
-
Not a finished, ready-to-execute plan. The aim is narrower and more useful: untangle where you're stuck, not solve everything downstream of it.
Behavioural science, not behavioural exploitation.
There are two ways to use behavioural science in business. One studies how people think in order to nudge them toward decisions that serve the business more than the person: more items ordered, longer subscriptions, choices made before there is been time to weigh them properly.
The other uses the same understanding of behaviour to build enough trust that people say what they actually think, want and need, companies build more aligned and meaningful products and services, and growth follows naturally, because what gets built is genuinely better, not because anyone was outmaneuvered.
Every session here runs on the second definition. If that's the growth you're after, we'll work well together.
Three steps, start to finish.
1. Book
Either a paid virtual consult if you are certain of your requirement, or a free 30-minute introductory call.
2. The session itself, your choice of format
A single 2-hour call if you have a clear idea about the root challenge you are dealing with. I personally recommend two focused calls, a 75-90-minute first call to go deep on the challenge and everything already tried, and a 30-45-minute second call to land on directions and what's worth trying next.
3. You take it from there
No follow-up deck, no ongoing retainer expectation. If you'd like to continue working together, that's a separate conversation. For more complex challenges or longer project engagements, please get in touch directly via email.
How my approach differs
A hospital once asked me to help improve the patient experience for paediatric families, on a shoestring budget. The easy answer might have been a sponsored event or few, with freebies and feel-good events; cheerful, cheap, and forgotten within a week.
Instead, I spent time with patient families, with staff, over several months, and found the real problem wasn't a lack of cheer. It was that one parent was, in many cases, giving up their income entirely for months on end. So I proposed something better; a partnership with local businesses offering low-to-medium-skilled, person-independent part-time work, so a parent could opt in and earn something of their own, even while enduring the uncertainty. Not a quick fix. Just the right one.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Nothing discussed leaves the room.
This is a standing policy, not a one-off assurance. NDAs are signed on request, before the introductory call if needed, and typically capped at twelve months, given how quickly the business landscape shifts. But even without one, client confidentiality is treated as a professional default, not a favour.
Common questions
Q. Is this a sales call for more work?
A. No. You're not going to be pitched during the session. The same selectivity runs the other way too.
I turn down work that doesn't fit, and don't take on projects in alcohol, tobacco, or similarly positioned sectors, regardless of otherwise being a good fit.
Q. What if two hours isn't enough?
That's what the two-call format is for. Worth being upfront: two hours won't hand you a finished plan or a guaranteed outcome, what it reliably does is open up direction options your team can then run with. (One session did no more than point a product startup toward a different customer segment for their payments product; a few years on, that redirection was the reason a large retail chain acquired them.) If the challenge genuinely needs more than the session can hold, that becomes a separate conversation, not part of this one.
Do you sign NDAs?
Yes, on request, before the introductory call if needed. Typically capped around twelve months.
Do you work with startups as well as large companies?
Yes, the first-principles approach doesn't change with company size. What changes is the constraint you're solving under, and that's exactly what the first call is for.
